SADIE (MORGANSTERN) BRENER Aunt Sadie passed away peacefully on January 23, 2005 at age 97 at the Sharon Home North. She was predeceased in 1960 by her beloved husband, Dr. Jack Brener; and by her siblings, Gertrude Ornstein, Ken Morgan and Libby Shooman. She is survived by and lovingly remembered by her sisters, Ruth Chess of Los Angeles, Dorothy (Yates) Goldberg; and all her nieces and nephews. Sadie was born in and loved Winnipeg, and lived here all her life. A graduate of university and Normal School, Sadie taught in a one-room schoolhouse near Winnipeg for several years. After her marriage, she devoted decades of her life volunteering at Misericordia General Hospital where Jack was an anaesthesiologist. A graveside service was held January 25 at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, attended by nieces and nephews. Many thanks to the 5th Floor staff at the Sharon Home and her private caregivers.
